what involves your mind after you hear the word environment?
The only thing which one can say about your environment is our surrounding here let us just assume that we all are sitting in a park anything and everything we are able to see during this park are all a part of an environment.
Now allow us to just list down few things that we see here during these park-like people sitting or walking around children playing the plush green grasses plants trees the small insects, birds the benches swing playground slides, etc these are few objects which are placed near or around us and that they all are part of a surrounding.
A surrounding also can be sort of a locality like someplace where the park is found it may be a rustic and on a far broader term a planet Earth itself now that we've got listed the things we see during this park if we observe the things to our left all have something in common they need life in them or they perform various life processes like eating breeding reproduction etc so we call all as living organisms which in other terms are also called as biotic components.
Biotic vicar's the word BIOS means life and the things which we listed all the way down to a right doesn't have life in them so we call them as non-living organisms or the abiotic components. abiotic because it has no life since now we all know what and why can sisters we can easily define what environmental sciences learning about environmental science.
Actually means to understand how nature works to understand the ween us interactions of different components of an environment and also to search out how we humans affect our environment to grasp it further here we shall observe how plants grow as we all know plans they absorb carbon dioxide from the air-water from the soil and sunlight to create their food through a chemical process.
This process is known as photosynthesis and also these plants function food for higher animals so we will say all the biotic components constantly interact or exchange things with one another additionally because the abiotic components for his or her survival or existence the plans are just a little aspect of the environment.
But if we consider a way larger or broader aspect like a planet Earth, allow us to see how the radius components work on a broader scale I'm sure that you just all have seen the picture of a planet Earth although it's like one large structure it's many various features now if we take the whole land surface on the planet and Club it together we get a separate sphere called a little sphere.
Similarly, the air surrounding our Earth surface will be taken collectively sphere called atmosphere the bluish part on a globe which indicates a water surface it would form and other sphere called hydrosphere and also the assorted life forms on the world like plants animals microorganisms and that we humans a part of another sphere.
Biosphere, when these four spheres combine it, gives us the complete large sphere which may be a planet Earth and from these four spheres itself man gets all youthful things that satisfy many folks d2d requirements just like the lithosphere which could be a land component is beneficial to man for closing agricultural activities constructing houses we also get many useful minerals from the soil.
Similarly, the hydrosphere which provides us with water in several forms which is useful for drinking washing cleaning for agriculture for industries the air which we breathe sunlight weather when are all obtained from the atmosphere the food which we eat firewood are obtained from the biosphere.
Friends if you observe all these things are obtained from our nature and are noticeably useful to us and hence we call it all as natural resources here if you split the term the meaning is incredibly simple natural means from the character and resource means something which is of use to us but for satisfying his increasing demands.
Man is continuously using these resources and hence they're depleting at a far faster rate a planet Earth has its own way to replenish many of this resources that means that may come back to many of the resources into existence but this replenishing rage is slow as compared to the speed within which it's getting confused therefore the radius activities which man does affects the balance between the four spheres.
Like forests is an important resource and we are cutting down forests for land and the various forest products and when the forest cover is destroyed it'll affect rainfall which successively will affect agricultural production so when in this way the balance is disturbed it directly or indirectly affects all living and non-living components and some of the results arising out of man's activities are which we hear in a very present-day life just like the cases of pollution warming ozone depletion climate change.
We also hear about natural disasters just like the very recent incidents of Earthquakes and Tsunami in Japan a really severe cyclonic storm hood hit the states of state in Orissa in India a strong Typhoon hagupit that hit the central Philippines what does of these indicate is it the mother earth who has changed or is it we humans here we must think on what mother earth is providing us and what are we giving her reciprocally friends the foss fears which we just learned are the premise of all environmental processes.
